Manitou Springs boasts a wonderful selection of galleries including artist cooperatives, many private galleries representing local artists, and a community art center/public library with a makerspace and adorned with a famous El MAC mural. First Friday ArtWalk spans the Creative Corridor, which links the creative districts of Downtown Colorado Springs and Old Colorado City with Manitou Springs. Galleries have responded creatively to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, conducting either Virtual First Friday events or limited capacity in-person gallery openings, with artists on-site, live demonstrations, special mini-performances, shopping and dining.
