Why did we choose Manitou? We never had a single intention of opening a business in Manitou Springs until threatened with having to move our family out of the Manitou community.

After 30+ years, the Ancient Mariner (previous occupant of our location) had closed and this iconic bar/music venue was destined to be turned into retail shops in downtown Manitou Springs.

As much as music lovers in Manitou didn’t want to see an end to the local live music scene and all it’s good times, neither did Jason & Jenna. With transitions in work for Jason, the timing was perfect to embark on a new career in entrepreneurship.

Within 6 weeks of the Mariner’s closure, Armadillo Ranch opened the doors to residents and visitors for enjoyment of live, local musicians, good food and great drinks.
