Maud M. Keithley won several National League of American Penwomen awards for her series of children’s books about Packy the Packrat. The best-known book written by Mrs. Keithley, “Packy Climbs Pikes Peak”, was published in 1941 and is considered in some reading circles as a classic for children. It is the story of a pack rat’s trip from the Garden of the Gods to the summit of Pikes Peak.
